Check this out from one of our students' recent projects in middle school Earth Science! He designed a sustainable house from almost 100% recycled materials and leftovers from other projects. It included 25 energy saving features from geothermal and solar energy to a porous driveway, grey and rainwater collection. It also has large south-facing windows to passively collect heat in the winter, but which are shaded by deciduous trees and an overhang in the summer.
