Michael Colaneri was born in Providence, Rhode Island and has resided in New England nearly his entire life. After graduating from Rhode Island College, he married Karen and started what he thought would be a ‘normal’ life. God intervened by sending the newlyweds on a short-term trip to Romania. While there, they were recruited to join one of the sending organizations, Greater Europe Mission.

Michael had experience speaking in public before these events, but it was while raising support that he significantly refined his preparation for and comfort with Public Speaking. The Colaneris traveled to various churches and events to speak about the ministry and it was a time of growth and excitement. This all culminated with the only time the family lived outside of New England, working with the ministry in southwest Germany.

Upon returning to the US, Michael attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and also served as the Director of Communications and Marketing there for nearly a decade. He and Karen homeschooled all their children — who all attended New Hope — and he sincerely loves the community. He’s looking forward to sharing his expertise in Public Speaking with the current generation of New Hope students.
